Dear Gary:
You have taken care of our firm’s group benefits, and many of our partners personal life and disability insurance needs for over 15 years. We have always been impressed with your professional approach to insurance and your integrity.
When you told us that we would be able to increase the amount of disability insurance over and above the group LTD in force, we were very interested. What made us particularly keen was the fact that we did not have to provide medical evidence. Once people get over 45-50, it is inevitable that there are health issues that could preclude some individuals from obtaining more disability insurance. In addition, you were able to structure a discount program for our firm. I understand that normally Unum would not have provided the Guaranteed Disability Insurance Program to our firm, as we did not meet the minimum number of personnel to qualify. I know that because you specialize in disability insurance and have done a lot of work with Unum, you were able to persuade them to make an exception for our firm. This meant that we were able to increase our disability benefits by a minimum of $1,500 per month.
I believe that any accounting or legal firm that is interested in maximizing disability insurance for their partners would benefit greatly by discussing this with you.
